Posted on the PTA door at Hillside and on the PTA website at hillsidepta.com is a proposed by-laws amendment. This change will allow for up to two people to share the Vice Presidents roles for each program area.  The posting is done with at least 30 days’ notice and to allow the general membership to review the change prior to being put to a vote at Hillside’s curriculum nights, August 26th and August 28th. If there are any questions, you may contact Sandy Craig at email@example.com or Leah Ward at firstname.lastname@example.org.
College and Career Readiness Performance Index (CCRPI) is the rating process that the Georgia Department of Education (GADOE) began using to report school performance beginning with 2012 data. The report for 2013 performance will be released with changes to the criteria formula. Â To allow for an equal comparison between 2012 and 2013 ratings, the GADOE recalculated the 2012 ratings of all schools to match the 2013 formula. This recalculation resulted in a change in the original 2012 reported rating and lowered original scores for most schools throughout the state. While this may result in lower ratings for 2012, it will give an apples-to-apples comparison to show growth. This adjustment reflects the states focus upon growth rather than simply achievement.
The following documents should be reviewed by all stakeholders to prepare for the release of the 2012 and 2013 CCRPI ratings:
At Hillside we are committed to working collaboratively with the administration, teachers, staff and parent organizations to review the new newly published formula and continue to build our school improvement plan to meet the needs of our school community.
For more detailed information please take time to review the GADOE website on CCRPI

IMPORTANT Information for ALL Hillside Volunteers!!!
Before volunteering at Hillside Elementary, volunteers are required to view this Fulton County Schools video found at http://media2.fultonschools.org/DistrictContent/Training/ChildAbuseandNeglect/player.html. Following viewing of the video, a two question quiz, and instructions for printing a certificate will be provided. This will verify that the parent/volunteer has completed the training. The parent/volunteer should bring this certificate to the school prior to volunteering.
Leah Ward, Sandy Craig (PTA Presidents), Dr. Otway and Ms. Blalock just attended the annual North Fulton PTA Presidents and Principals Luncheon last week. We are so proud and excited to report that Hillside Elementary was recognized with two awards!
For three years in a row, Hillside Elementary PTA is recognized again as an Outstanding Local Unit within the North Fulton Council which represents 49 elementary, middle and high schools. Hillside is 2nd place this year among all elementary schools. We humbly accepted this award on behalf of YOU: each and every one of you who work tirelessly on for all of our students and families.
We also received the Connect With Council award which represents our active participation in training, networking and partnership with other PTAs within the North Fulton Council.
