Join the PTA! Why? What does membership in the PTA mean for your kids? For your family? For your community? Here is where PTA dollars and volunteer hours went to work last year:
- Artist Day: 16 artists & groups performed and demonstrated their careers and passions
- Tutoring Math and Reading Supplies and Programming
- Science Day: Hands-On Experiments and Competition For All Grades
- Reflections Creativity Program: 4 Hillside Students Competed At State!
- Iditarod Challenge Reading Program
- Fall Carnival and International Festival
- New Arctic Wall Murals Near The Gym and Media Center
- Family Game Night
- Various Parent Workshops
- Internet Safety Seminar
- Fun-Filled Yearbook
- Red Ribbon Week
The PTA will continue to support these programs while focusing on the following initiatives for 2009-2010:
- Competitive Science Olympiad Team
- Robotics Team
- Math Facts Month Contest and Events
- Book Clubs
- Dad and Student events
In order to continue these outstanding programs, the PTA is asking for your support by purchasing a PTA membership for each child attending Hillside and supporting our fundraisers.
Why else should you become a card-carrying member of the PTA? Because the National PTA gives more funds to schools with the greatest percentage of parent/guardian membership! Let’s go for 100% membership!
