The Fulton County calendar committee is recommending a 175-day calendar for 2010-11 for students and a 190-day calendar for teachers.

The 175 student days would each be 11 minutes longer than our existing instructional day, thus allowing the 180 day calendar to be reduced five days. Teachers would still work 190 eight-hour days. This proposal is in accordance with the new law that just went into effect this month.

The calendar committee is recommending that the school year begin on Monday, August 9, 2010. Alternative calendars that accomplish the same 175 student days but start later are included as an alternative option. 2011-2012 calendar recommendations are also attached.
