Pawprints article – October 2, 2009
What does beauty mean to you? The Reflections program is under way! Students will learn about the “Art of Expression” to help them create works of art. Reflections is sponsored by the national PTA and provides an opportunity for students to be creative and receive positive recognition for their efforts. The theme this year will be “Beauty is….”
Students are encouraged to create and submit works of art in six categories: literature, photography, visual arts, dance, film/video production and musical composition. Entry forms should be sent home by this week in the VIP packs. Entries are due by October 20th. Additional forms, rules and more information are available at the Hillsidepta.com website. Students are welcome to enter as many times as they would like. Please be sure to read the rules for each category as entries must adhere to the PTA guidelines in order to advance to the council level.
The 1st and 2nd place winners in each category and grade level will advance to the council level and will be announced in November. An awards ceremony will also be held during with the date to be determined.
