There’s so much happening in the garden at the moment, though much of it is underground.  The carrots, onions and flowering bulbs are all beginning to make shoots while the potatoes are just getting started.  In the nine beds at the front of the school, a salad bowl garden has been growing throughout the fall and winter months.  This garden is host to lettuce, cabbage, carrots, onions, flowering bulbs and yummy broccoli.

Mrs. Ward’s first grade class had a delightful time harvesting the broccoli and tasting it.   Around the rest of campus, many beds are full of flowers and other cool weather vegetables.

Look for a salad bowl garden to be planted by the kindergarten classes in March!  And if that wasn’t enough, peanuts will be sprouting in the greenhouse and in first grade classrooms this spring.  For more information or to volunteer, please contact Teresa Lin at
